This research Award was held yesterday at the Departmental Council of Bouches du Rhône under the chairmanship of Mrs. Véronique Miquelly, Delegate Departmental Advisor for Higher Education and Research.
MCO Congrès has contributed to the material and logistical organization of this Prize, which aims to encourage research and to honor the scientific community of the Department (natural sciences, human and social sciences, medicine, etc.).
Three Prizes were awarded: Grand Prix, Prix Jeune Chercheur and Prix Spécial du Jury.
The award ceremony was opened by Mrs Miquelly followed by the conference of Professor Eric Vivier, Coordinator of Marseille Immunopole, Director of the Immunology Center of Marseille-Luminy, Hospital Practitioner at the APHM, Professor of Immunology in Aix -Marseille University and co-founder of Innate Pharma. The topic of the talk was “the major advances that immunology brings to the personalized treatment of cancers”.
Following Professor Vivier’s talk, Mrs. Miquelly handed the “Prix Spécial du Jury” to Ms. Florence Boulc'h’s team (Laboratory of Divided Materials, Interface, Reactivity, Electrochemistry (MADIREL), Aix-Marseille University). The “Prix Jeune Chercheur” was awarded to David Grojo, CNRS Research Scientist (Laser Laboratory, Plasmas and Photonic Processes, Aix-Marseille University). Finally, the Grand Prix was awarded to the Medical Genetics Department, Timone Children's Hospital, headed by Professor Nicolas Levy.

The General Assembly of the International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD) has just elected Marseille as the host City of its 27th Congress and 89th Annual Meeting in 2021.
This successful application, led by the French Committee on Dams and Reservoirs and MCO Congrès, is the result of an efficient collaboration between all stakeholders promoting the destination : Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Atout France, Region PACA, Regional Tourism Committee, Provence Côte d’Azur Events, City of Marseille, Marseille Convention Bureau and Tourism Office, Marseille Water Company, SAFIM and Marseille Chanot Convention Centre.
Being elected as a destination of this congress, Marseille is elevated to the rank of international capitals for hosting international congresses (Prague 2017, Vienna 2018, Ottawa 2019, New Dehli 2020).
Further to a call for bids, MCO Congrès has been appointed as the congress organiser of this event. The Marseille agency is proud to provide its professional services and know-how to warmly welcome all the representatives of the national committees on large dams.
